Clinic Policies Regarding COVID19

Governor Kate Brown announced on April 23rd that medical clinics, which include acupuncture clinics, can resume care starting May 1st.  Dynamic Acupuncture will be doing a slow reopening starting on Wednesday May 6th. I know there are many patients who are in active pain and have had a hard time putting off treatment during the last six weeks. We look forward to being able to provide care for our patients again while also providing you a safe and protected experience when you come to Dynamic Acupuncture.

You can now schedule online for up to two weeks in advance for an in-person visit. If you do not feel safe leaving your home, we recommend you wait to schedule an in-person appointment. Telehealth visits will continue to be available for those wanting care and wishing to avoid an in-person visit. Many insurance companies are now covering telehealth visits and this is a wonderful time to add Chinese Herbal Medicine to your healthcare routine!

This reopening is seen as a trial roll out and will be reevaluated on a biweekly basis. We will continue to closely monitor the recommendations from Governor Kate Brown and the Oregon Health Authority and will modify clinic policies as needed.

Dynamic Acupuncture is following the Oregon Health Authority guidelines by:

  • Decreasing caseload volume during this trial period to minimize the number of people in the clinic at any given time and maximize social distancing.

  • Utilizing CDC recommended PPE, which includes wearing a face mask at all times.

  • Encouraging patients to wait to schedule their in-person appointment if they are in high-risk groups “such as those over age 60 and those with compromised immune systems or lung and heart function”.

  • Disinfecting high touch surfaces and treatment rooms between each patient.

  • Screening patients for potential COVID-19 exposure or symptoms prior to treatment, which may include the use of a no-touch thermometer.

In order to ensure safety:

  • Patients are asked to not come into the clinic if they are feeling unwell, have a fever or cough, sore throat or body aches. Please contact your provider to convert your appointment to a telehealth consultation.

  • Patients are asked to wait to schedule their appointment if in the last 14 days they have been in close contact with a person who is suspected to have COVID-19 while that person was ill, or been in close contact with a person who has a confirmed case of COVID-19.

In preparation for your Acupuncture visit:

  • We are requesting that all patients coming into the clinic wear a face mask as a precaution for both themselves and the health of their provider and other patients. This could be a bandana or a scarf. The purpose of the mask is to prevent droplet exchange from anyone you are close to, as well as to remind you to not touch your face.

  • Please no not arrive early to your appointment. My hope is to take you straight into the treatment room and avoid patients waiting in the lobby. If you prefer, you can wait in your car and I can call you when the room is ready for you. Please request this option ahead of time. There will be no water in the lobby.

  • I will be checking out all patients in their treatment room.

  • Both patient and practitioner will wear a face mask during the intake and there will be only essential talking during needling, pulse taking, and palpations.

  • We are requesting that if you are feeling unwell, even if your symptoms are mild, to contact your provider to convert your appointment to a telehealth visit.

  • Please wear loose comfortable clothing to your appointment

We look forward to seeing you again and being able to provide you with healthcare during this challenging time.
