Happy Chinese New Year!
Welcome to the year of the Yin Fire Rooster!
I hope that you’re having a great start to 2017! This year the Chinese lunar New Year falls on January 28th, 2017. The lunar New Year marks the end of last year’s Yang Fire Monkey and the beginning of the Yin Fire Rooster Year. In Chinese astrology the years alternate between Yin and Yang, pass through two years of each of the 5-elements, and rotate between the 12 zodiac animals.
True to monkey’s unpredictable nature, last year was full of surprises and unexpected twists. Roosters are know for their more predictable and steadfast nature- they can be counted on waking every day at dawn. This coming year, we can expect to face challenges of a more predictable nature that respond well to rooster’s qualities of hard work, clarity, and practical outlook. This is also a year for awakening as roosters are known as the “dawn awaker” who rouse everyone to action.
The fire element helps one cultivate connection, warmth, and good communication. The yin fire year encourages us to focus on inner warmth and insight to connect with what we hold most precious to our hearts.
Wishing you all happiness, abundance and health in the coming year!
